As I’ve begun to work on a couple of ideas that could be useful to other people (greasemonkey scripts, wordpress plugins & themes, etc.), I’ve decided to create a lil’ site to house them all.
One fantastic thing that DreamHost does is give you a ton of themes to pick from, as a part of your install. These themes all contain fantastic ideas of what can be done with wordpress, and a few examples of things that must be avoided. Trying to create a theme from scratch (or cobble one from these examples) can become an arduous task, so instead, I decided to do something that would essentially never see the light of day to most visitors: Install Plugins.
After grabbing a few that I find absolutely necessary, I went about adding a bit of eye candy for myself in the form of Binary Moon’s custom login plugin. You can read about the details over there, but after an hour or so in photoshop, I felt pretty good about the image that screen that would greet me whenever I logged in and out of WP.

and, even though i’ve still got a few (read: a LOT) steps to take to complete the theme, the overall feel of the site is new and refreshing.
